Passport
The Passport Unit is responsible for processing passport applications that have been submitted at the Agency’s headquarters at 25C Constant Spring Road and at its branch office at 49 Union Street, Overton Plaza, Montego Bay as well as designated police stations across the island and at Jamaica’s consular offices abroad.
The Unit processes passports within seven (7) working days for applications submitted at its headquarters in Kingston. Applications submitted at the Montego Bay office are processed within fourteen (14) working days while applications submitted at overseas missions are processed within twenty (20) working days.
Express passport services are offered at premium costs above the price for the normal delivery of the document. These services include next-day and three-day delivery.
The issuing of passports to Jamaicans living at home and abroad is carried out by a centralised facility at the Constant Spring Road office. The Unit has been issuing machine-readable passports since 2001 and began distribution of the Jamaican CARICOM Passport in January 2009.
