  • PICA now offering passport services at Portmore and May Pen Tax Offices

  • In its continued effort to improve on customer service delivery, the Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency (PICA) has introduced passport services at the Portmore and May Pen Tax Offices.The move is aimed at regionalising PICA’s operation to allow more customers to conduct business with the Agency at greater convenience. Previously, applications were accepted at PICA’s head office in Kingston and at the Agency’s branch office in Montego Bay only.

  • Persons wishing to obtain their passport for emergency situations are now able to do so under the Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency’s (PICA) next-day and three-day express services.
  • Work permits no longer required for Permanent Residents

  • Non-Jamaicans who have acquired permanent residence status to live on the island are no longer required to obtain a work permit to work in Jamaica. This after an agreement was reached between the Ministry of Labour and the Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency (PICA) recently. This new provision applies to current and future holders of permanent residence status.

  • Persons who have been deported to Jamaica are encouraged to visit or call the office of the Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency (PICA) to ascertain whether or not their passport is with the Agency before applying for a new one.
