Smile Jamaica Interview
Getting the word out – PICA’s CEO, Jennifer McDonald (centre) and ICT Director, Keith Montaque provide information on the recently installed automated immigration kiosks to TVJ’s Dahlia Harris. The occasion was an interview on the station’s Smile Jamaica morning time programme on Thursday, January 15, 2015. The Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency commissioned into service five automated immigration kiosks at the Norman Manley International Airport and another fifteen at the Sangster International Airport on November 27, 2014 and December 11, 2014 respectively. The automated immigration kiosks, or automated border crossing (ABC) kiosks are self-service machines which allow passengers to be processed through immigration without having to interact directly with an officer. The technology, which was funded by the Tourism Enhancement Fund, processes passengers within 60 seconds or less.
